Mission and Staff Saint Peter’s School of Religion exists to assist and support the families of Saint Peter’s Parish in providing religious instruction and formation in the Catholic faith for children attending non-Catholic schools in kindergarten through the eighth grade, and partners with the Youth Ministry to ensure teens are able to continue their life-long faith journey while in high school. Saint Peter’s School of Religion is led by Cindy Dixon, Director of Religious Education, with the assistance of Melissa Seppala, Administrative Assistant. Approximately 100 volunteer catechists generously give their time to assist and support parents. Catechists have completed the requirements under the ADW Child Protection policy and take part in training before the school year begins. They also participate in three in-service programs each year. Other volunteers, who must also meet the requirements under the ADW Child Protection Policy, serve as class aides and office aides. In addition to religious education classes, SOR offers summer Vacation Bible Camp for pre-K thru 6th grades, and Edge Camp, in connection with Youth Ministry, for middle school grades. Both teen and adult volunteers are needed for each camp.
