Prayer for Social Justice
Almighty and eternal God,
may your grace enkindle in all person
a love of the unfortunate people
whom poverty and misery reduce
to a condition of life unworthy of human beings.
Arouse in the hearts
of those who call you Father
a hunger and thirst for social justice
and for fraternal charity in deeds and in truth.
Grant, O Lord, peace in our days,
peace to souls, peace to our community
and peace among nations---

Lord, open our eyes,
That we may see you in
our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears,
That we may hear the cries
of the hungry, the cold,
the frightened, the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts,
That we may love each other
as you love us.
Renew in us your spirit
Lord, free us and make us one.
